Rita Murphy Varricchio of Oak Crest Village, Parkville mD, died on May 7, 2026. Rita was predeceased by her husband Louis Varricchio, and her parents Charles and Mabel Murphy; her siblings,: Gordon and Charles Murphy, Marion Siple, Jeanette Shilling, Kathleen Ramsteck, Ellen King, Patricia Chisholm, and Anne Burgess. All were originally from Meadville, PA; her son, Patrick Varricchio of Perry Hall, MD; her daughter-in-law Trish Healey of Rochester, NY, and her daughters former partner Evelyn Bailey.
Rita is survived by: her daughter-in-law Diane Plate Varricchio. grandchildren: Pamela (Kyle) Richter, Timothy (Christina) Varricchio; and great grandchildren: Karalynn, Ryan, Aubrey, and Kelsey, all of Perry Hall. Rita is also survived by her daughter, Lynn Varricchio (Gail Mastrella), grandchildren Daniel Varricchio Healey, Samantha Varricchio Berrios, great grandchildren Tony and Dominick Varricchio, Humberto and Nico Berrios, all from Rochester, NY.
Rita is also survived by several great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends at Oak Crest and Beyond.
Rita was proud to be a nurse.
The family will have a Memorial Service in the Chapel at Oak Crest Village, 8800 Walther Blvd., Parkville MD 21234, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
