Rita M. Lanckhoff

Rita M. Lanckhoff, 91, of Troy, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, at the Runge Mortuary. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Rita's name to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com

Rita was born on January 13, 1935, to Willi and Bertha (Fadulski) Osting in Lubeck, Germany. She graduated at just 15 years old and apprenticed to be a flower designer. On February 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Hermann Peterson, who passed away. There were two children as a result of their union, Christina and Franciska. On September 21, 1962, she went on to marry Henning Eichmann and they later divorced prior to his passing. Rita and Henning welcomed a son, Norman, as a result of their union. On September 13, 1969, she married David Lanckhoff, who has also passed away. They welcomed Rebecca and David as a result of their union. May 1, 1999, she married William (Randy) Hart in McHenry, IL.

Rita had many hobbies which included fitness, traveling, and her passion for cooking.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, William (Randy) Hart; children, Christina (Stephen) Petersen, Franciska (Betti) Blankenfeld, Norman (Joy) Eichmann, and Rebecca Lanckhoff (James Pilkington); grandchildren, Nicholas Bradley, Sarah (Christopher) Kang, Lauryn (Jeremy) Seger, Kathryn (Colby) Conley, Megan Eichmann, Carter Suberla-Lanckhoff, Addison Pilkington, Mason Pilkington, David Lanckhoff, and Nathan Lanckhoff; 9 great grandchildren; and her brother, Ronald Osting, who resides back in Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Hermann, Henning, and David; brothers, Freddy Osting, Dieter Osting, Uwe Osting, Klaus Peter Osting; sister, Waltraud Haertel and son, David (Mary) Lanckhoff.
