Robert Anthony Dal Porto Jr.

Robert Anthony “Robbie” Dal Porto Jr., 63, of Oakley, California, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Antioch, CA, after a short battle with cancer. Robbie was born November 6, 1962, in Pittsburg, CA to the late Norma and Robert A. Dal Porto.

A 1980 graduate of Liberty High School, Robbie returned to work with Dal Porto Enterprises, helping with the family hay and cattle operation while also running a successful backhoe and construction business. An accomplished horseman, his true passion was team roping—competing at local, amateur, and professional levels—and breaking and riding colts to create exceptional rope horses. Robbie loved animals of all kinds and was known for his deep kindness, and generous spirit.

He is survived by his brothers Steve (Carol) Dal Porto, David (Jeanene) Dal Porto; Brother-in-law Bob Sansoe, nieces and nephews Kate (Eric) Bamberger, Matt (Alice) Sansoe, Gabe (Stephanie) Dal Porto, Mike (Ashley) Sansoe, Lindsey (Mitch) Ahearn, Whitney (Justen) Peek; AJ Dal Porto, and Dawson Dal Porto; 15 great nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.

Robbie was preceded in death by his sister Sandra Sansoe, and parents Norma and Robert A. Dal Porto.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a cancer society of your choice.
