Robert “Bobby” Morris Stewart went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Born on January 18, 1940, in Waycross GA, to Julius E (Bunk) and Minnie Lee (Tanner) Stewart. Bobby lived a simple life, focused on work ethic, family, friends, and faith.
He was a hunter and fisherman, carpenter and woodworker, and a storyteller. He loved tractors, the University of Georgia Football, gardening, and the Waffle House. After his retirement, he spent his days watching the birds from the front porch with a good cup of coffee.
Bobby dedicated 32 years of his life to the Duval County Streets and Highways (Public Works) Department. Bobby and Iris, his wife of 61 years, served at West Park Baptist Church in various ministries for several years. After he was physically unable to attend church, he watched West Park’s services from home and was often visited by several members of his church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; his son Julius E. Stewart; his brothers Jake (Ann), John Henry, and Tommy; his sisters JoAnn (Roger), Glenda Sue (Jerry, Sr); and his brothers-in-law James Taylor & David Watson.
