Roger Dale Fitzgerald

Roger Dale Fitzgerald, 59, of Raphine passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Augusta Health, Fishersville, surrounded by his family.Born January 26, 1967 in Staunton, he was a son of Edna Mae (Hamilton) Fitzgerald and the late Eldon Von Fitzgerald.Roger was employed by the Mint Spring Post Office, where he worked as a mail clerk for several years. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and later developed a passion for gaming and shooting. Above all, Roger cherished the time he spent with his family. He will be remembered as a loving son, caring father, devoted brother and uncle, and a loyal friend to many.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Fitzgerald.Survivors include his mother, Edna Fitzgerald of Raphine; daughter, Amanda Marie Roddy of NC; one grandchild; brothers, Alan Fitzgerald and wife, Gina of Bay City, TX, Eldon Brian Fitzgerald and wife, Linda, of Thomasville, NC, Richard Douglas Fitzgerald of Raphine, and James Andrew “Bubba” Fitzgerald of Raphine; special cousin, William Clark and wife, Kim of Fort Defiance; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft with Rev. Adam Blagg officiating.
