Roger Dona Guilmette

Roger Dona Guilmette passed on August 9, 2026 at his home in Lancaster, California at the age of 101.

Roger was born May 29, 1925 in Prescott, Massachusetts to Dona and Vera Guilmette. He graduated from Athol High School in Athol, Massachusetts in 1943. From high school he served in the United States Navy March 1943 until being honorably discharged in April 1946. Roger met his future wife Frances Cloukey and they moved to Inglewood, California where he attended Northrop Aeronautical Institute, getting married November 15, 1947. Roger and Frances made their life in the Mojave Desert with his career in aeronautics with Edwards Air Force Base and Lockheed Martin amongst others while raising their four children. Roger loved hunting and fishing with his dogs and relaxing with his beanbag chair and a big bag of peanuts.

He is survived by daughters Sherrie Guilmette of Lake Oswego, Oregon and Joanne White of Lancaster, California; son Rick Guilmette of Lancaster, California; grandchildren Shawnda Benavides of Lancaster, California, Blaine Landresse of Lancaster, California, Janelle Landresse of Lancaster, California, Jessica Guilmette of Lancaster, California, Parker Guilmette of Lancaster, California and Cory Woodworth of Beaverton, Oregon; and great-grandchildren Brooke Sexton of Lancaster, California and Tyler Sexton of Lancaster, California. He is preceded in death by sister Althea Gibbons, his wife of 52 years Frances Guilmette and his daughter Sandra Orea.
