Ronald Dennis Haddox was born on September 4, 1938 in Brenham, Texas to Robert Edward Lee Haddox and Betty Ptacek Haddox. He spent his early years living with his grandmother, Albina Sebesta Ptacek, in Somerville, Texas where he began his education at Snook Elementary School.
Ronn moved to Baytown at age 7 with his mother and stepfather, J.W. Schiller, and grew up there, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in 1956. Following high school, he enrolled at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas where he met his beautiful future wife, Anna Lee Dunn. He left college after enlisting in the U.S Army to serve during the Korean War and was recalled to serve during the Bay of Pigs. He returned following those two deployments and graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree in May 1964.
Ronn and Anna Lee were married on July 31, 1964 in Liberty, Texas and made their first home in Pasadena, where he began working for Diamond Shamrock. Soon thereafter, he began attending South Texas College of Law at night. After receiving his JD, he set up his own family law practice in Baytown, where he practiced for over fifty years until his retirement.
Ronn was very active in the community, volunteering much of his time with the Baytown Jaycees, Rotary International, and the Baytown Housing Authority. He served for a number of years on the Lee College Board of Regents, as a general member as well as the President of the Board. He also served on the International Committee with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for over 20 years. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry and as an usher and greeter.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna Lee Dunn Haddox; his son, Jason Haddox & his wife, Shannon; his daughter, LeAnne Redwine & her husband, Ruffin and granddaughters, Georgia, Lilly & Anna Belle Redwine.
A celebration of life will be held on September 26th with a visitation at 10 am, service at 11 am and a reception to follow, all at Trinity Episcopal Church in Baytown, 5010 North Main Street.
