Sarah Kathryn McBrayer

Sarah Kathryn Johnson McBrayer passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on November 8, 1942, Kathryn lived a life filled with joy, vibrant energy, and deep devotion to those she loved.

Kathryn was born November 8, 1942 to Griffin & Ruth Johnson. She was later joined by her best friend & sister, Sandra. She fondly recalled their teenage days cruising the streets of Cedartown, sharing endless laughter and secrets.

In 1961 she married the love of her life, Richard. They welcomed two daughters, Eva Karen & Connie Ann. Later in life, her heart expanded even further as she took on the role she adored above all: "Nana" to her beloved granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Kathryn loved to travel—though those closest to her knew her true love was a great shopping trip. She was defined by her generous spirit, her stories, and her laugh that could light up any room.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard McBrayer; her parents; and her sister, Sandra.

Her legacy continues through those who survive her: her daughters, Karen Windsor (Robert) and Connie Jenkins (Shawn); her granddaughters, Kristen Wells (Brian) and Sarah Beth Brock (Matthew); and her great-grandchildren, Briggs, Beck, and Barnes Wells, Ava Ruth and Jake Brock; several cousins, nieces, & nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, August 20,2026 at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends & family earlier that day from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
