Sharel Sue Brown

Sharel Sue Brown, age 81 of Commerce Twp., Michigan passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of family, music, joy and faith. Sharel truly was an angel walking on this earth- a woman whose joyful spirit and gentle heart touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A gifted piano teacher and accomplished musician, Sharel dedicated her life to sharing the beauty of music with generations of students. Sharel attended and played the organ for many local churches in the area. She was one of the few musicians that could skillfully play a pipe organ. Music was not something Sharel simply practiced; it was woven into the fabric of her life. She was the president a group called the Fame Performers of Milford Musical which put on local plays, talent shows and recitals. She was widely respected for her judging and teaching of piano among other instruments including voice.

Sharel’s accomplishments began early in life when she was honored as Junior Miss in Rochester Michigan in 1957. A reflection of poise, intelligence, and beauty, both inside and out. Sharel found happiness tending to her plants, listening to her canaries sing, camping in her airstream camper and spending precious time with her family. Her greatest joy was raising and caring for her boys and then her grand children. She loved to play and teach her grand children about the joys of life in a firm yet gentle way.

Sharel's beautiful melody will continue to echo in the hearts of her family, friends, students and everyone who has ever touched her life.
