Teodora Mitacchione

Teodora Mitacchione, 89, passed away on May 9, 2026. Born April 16, 1937, Teodora will be remembered with deep respect and enduring love by all who knew her.

Teodora was the beloved wife of the late Vito. She was a loving mother of Angela (Vito) Tullo, Jackie (Anthony) Ambrosino, Rino Mitacchione, and the late Santa Mitacchione-Rizzo. She was a cherished nonna of Jaclyn Rizzo, Marisa Swanson, John Rizzo, Victoria Mitacchione, Francesco Tullo, Salvatore Ambrosino, and Gianna Ambrosino, and a great nonna to Cruz and Giuliana. Teodora was the dear sister of Anna Mangione, Joseph (Maria) Gaeta, and Augustino Gaeta, and of the late Nicoletta; she is also survived by Nicoletta’s husband, Joseph Marraccino.

In the steady rhythms of everyday life, Teodora found her joy in the comforts that bring a home to life. Her love could be felt in the meals she prepared, in the familiar companionship of her Italian shows, and in the simple but meaningful way she stayed connected—always ready to talk on the phone, to listen, to share, and to be present for the people she loved.

The family will be receiving visitors at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Helen's Church, 157-10 83rd St, Howard Beach, NY 11414, on Wednesday, May 13 , 2026 at 10:45 am.

Entombment will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, Flushing, NY 11365, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
