Elgin – Terry Lee Joyner, 71, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.A celebration of Terry's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Dunbar Funeral Home – Northeast Chapel, 4219 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia, SC 29223. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.Terry was born on May 21, 1955, in Columbia, South Carolina, to the late Thomas Joyner, Sr. and Ruby Vernell Stone Joyner.He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first and worked hard to provide for them. Terry was known for his easy-going nature and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing pool. He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School and spent his career as a roadwork engineering project manager. Terry was a Master Mason and a proud member of Dentsville Masonic Lodge No. 398 AFM.He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Denise Joyner; his sons, Joseph Blake Melton, and Austin Averlee Joyner; and his cherished grandchildren, Colten Walters, Troy Melton, Christian Melton, Averly Graham, Kassi Graham, and Carter Graham; brothers Gene Joyner and Sandy Joyner (Kathy). Terry was preceded in death by his daughter Stacey Joyner.
