Thelma Fay (Moffett) Simpson, 79, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri (Leawood, Kansas) passed away on September 24, 2026.
Thelma was born on December 4, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri to Wilson D. Moffett & Gertrude (Stephenson) Moffett. She graduated from East High School, Kansas City, MO in 1964. Thelma worked for R. J. Metzler & Company Insurance for many years, retiring in 1995. Thelma was also a loving housewife, supporting her husband of 52 years, John Simpson, and raising two sons, Chris and John, Jr.
Thelma is survived by her sons Chris (Becky) Simpson and John (Joanne) Simpson, Jr., grandchildren Alex, Harry, Evan and Becket.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00am, Friday, October 2, 2026 at the funeral home. Private entombment in the Faith Mausoleum at Mount Moriah Cemetery will follow.
