Vada Jane (Ross) Koontz, 88, Bossier City, went to be with the Lord on May 15th, 2026 at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Hospital. Born April 11, 1938 in Johnstown, PA to the late Louise (Coleman) and Milford Ross. Along with parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Lester, Ralph, Charlie, Jack, James; sisters Esther, Betty, Janet, Helen and Gloria and daughter Faith Ann Koontz Shoemaker.
Vada is survived by her husband of 68 years, James; daughters Cindy Akes, Lisa (Todd) Kelley; and son James (Trina) Koontz. She had numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was raised in Central City, PA to a coal-mining household. Upon marriage, Vada traveled extensively as a military family. She believed life taught that "things" do not make you happy, but it is the love of family that is important.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana.
