Virginia “Ginny” Mellick, 83, of Arizona, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026. She was born on November 10, 1942, in Denver, Colorado.
Ginny graduated from Catholic school and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Education from Loretto Heights College. With unwavering dedication and a deep respect for the dignity of every child, she devoted her career to elementary education. Through her patience, compassion, and belief in the power of learning, she positively influenced the lives of countless students.
On July 25, 1992, Ginny married the love of her life, Richard Allen Mellick, in Colorado. Throughout her life, her Catholic faith remained a constant source of strength, hope, and purpose. She was an active member of the Ladies of Charity at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, where her generous spirit and commitment to serving others reflected the values she lived every day.
Ginny found great joy in painting and writing, using her creativity to inspire and uplift those around her. She especially cherished children and dedicated much of her time to charitable work. Her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and servant’s heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Mellick; her daughters, Bridget Mitalski, and Shannon Bell, her beloved grandchildren, Ashton Robinson, Madison Ebner, Bridger Bell, and her great grandchildren, Asher Robinson, Arabella Robinson, Hayes Ebner, and Layla Ebner.
Ginny will be remembered for her enduring faith, her generous heart, and the love she so freely gave to her family, friends, students, and community. Her legacy of compassion, service, and quiet strength will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
