He was the son of the late Jeannette Bois and the late Lauréat Ouellet. He resided in Saint-Pascal, Kamouraska. He passed away at Hôtel-Dieu de Québec at the age of 71 years and 10 months. He was the husband of Marie-Claire Bérubé, and father to Sylvain, Patrick (Mélissa Proulx), and Jérémie (Kim Legros). He was grandfather to Liliane, Nora, Élie, and Léa. He had siblings Serge (Marthe Chénard), Johanne (Raynald Sylvain), Maryse (Albert Émond), Stéphane (Sylvie Pelletier). Funeral services were held in Saint-Pascal.
