William A. Maiorino Sr. MD

William A. Maiorino Sr. MD, born April 7, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, died September 20, 2026, at the age of 96.

A longtime resident of Babylon, New York, he will be remembered

with deep respect and gratitude for a life marked by steady faith, devoted service, and generous care for others.

Bill studied medicine at the University of Rome, Italy. He practiced at Good Samaritan University Hospital, where he delivered thousands of babies during his long and distinguished career spanning more than a half century—welcoming new life for generations of families and earning the lasting affection of the community he served.

Dr. Maiorino married Marie Maiorino (nee Marinaro) in 1960, and together they made their home in Babylon, L.I., where they raised five children. Bill was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and took great pride in the family he and Marie built.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Maiorino; his children, Maria Maiorino, William A. Maiorino, Jr. MD, Robert J. Maiorino, DDS, Linda Fama, and Michelle A. Melanphy; and is cherished by his ten grandchildren.

His life was one of devotion, hard work, kindness, and integrity. Bill can rest in peace, knowing his work on earth is complete.

Visitation will be held in the Frederick Room on September 25, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 39 N Carll Ave, Babylon, NY 11702, on September 26, 2026, at 10:15 am. Bill will be laid to rest in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Old Farmingdale Road, just west of Livingston Ave., Babylon, NY.
