William Joseph English

William (Bill) Joseph English, age 79, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on September 1, 2026.

Bill was born in Nashville, Tennessee on December 19, 1946. He grew up and graduated from Glencliff High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro and later obtained a Master’s Degree from University of North Florida. After college, he was employed by Duval County Schools in Jacksonville, Florida as a Teacher and taught troubled youth at Grand Park High School for a great part of his career. He was honored as an Educator and included in Who’s Who in America Year 2000. He was so proud he had run the River Run Marathon and loved jogging the St. Marks Trail after moving to Tallahassee. After retirement, he married Judy and moved to Tallahassee. There he worked alongside her in their Petsitting Business Auntie Jude’s. He especially loved walking the dogs and caring for all the other pets.

Bill was predeceased by his mother, Clara Mae Wolfe English, of Jacksonville, Florida and his father, Joseph Clyde English, of Nashville, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Judy English; stepsons, Scott (Cynthia) Seitel of Tallahassee, Florida and Brad (Jennifer) Seitel of Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law, Janet Jones of Hamilton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Jordan Seitel, David (Sydney) Newsome, Jacob Seitel, Anslee Seitel, Raelyn Seitel; his great grandchild, Levi Newsome; cousins, Rodney (Carol) English of Nashville, Tennessee, Cyndee Nash of Mississippi, Debbie (Jim) Allen of Mississippi, Patty (Ed) Watkins of Alabama, Kathy (Karl) Streichert of Tennessee, Mike (Virginia) Finney of Mississippi, Bob (Rita) Finney of Texas; and many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Calvin; and too many cats to name.

Instead of flowers and to honor Bill’s life, take a loved one out to dinner, do something fun, or support a local animal rescue organization of your choice.

Bill’s remains are to be placed with his Mother in Jacksonville, his Father’s resting place in Nashville, and in Cedar Key, his favorite place to visit. No other formal arrangements are being planned.
