William Ray McCord, born December 19, 1944, in Doniphan, MO went to join his Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 21, 2026, passing peacefully in his home surrounded by family.
He was the son of Bryan Cooper McCord and Melba (Jenkins) McCord of Sikeston, who preceded him in death. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Ray spent most of his life in Sikeston with his wife of 61 years Margaret Beth (Gimlin) McCord.

Ray was a 1962 graduate of Sikeston High School and a lifelong supporter of the Bulldogs. He was a fierce member of the Bulldog football team and a member of the first Sikeston wrestling team. Ray went on to get a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Murray State University.

Ray was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Sikeston. He served many years as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon.

As the owner and manager of the Cream Castle, Ray took great joy in feeding and serving BBQs, cheeseburgers and milkshakes to generations of Sikestonians. He enjoyed spending his mornings trading stories with the coffee drinkers as they solved the world's problems.
Ray is survived by his wife Margaret Beth McCord of Sikeston, three sons Steve McCord (Jeannie) of Jackson MO, Keith McCord (Ginger) of Sikeston, and Kevin McCord (Melanie) of Sikeston and one sister, Sandra Dobnikar (Robert) of Jackson MO. Ray was a proud PawPaw to: Jennifer Jones (Nathan) of Springfield IL; Shelby Kate Spencer (Caleb) of Jackson TN; Carson McCord of Jackson MO; Madeline McCord of Cape Girardeau MO and William McCord of Sikeston MO. He was also proud great grandfather to Lucas, Owen and Faith Jones and uncle to numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
