David Lynn Noe, age 79 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on June 16, 2026. David was born in Morristown, Tennessee to the late Katherine Pauline Noe and the late Thurman Wilson Noe. He grew up in Knox County and graduated from Karns High School in 1964 and was a pillar to the Karns community throughout his life.
David entered the workforce as a draftsman at the X-10 plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee; the beginning of an extensive career supporting the Oak Ridge area and the nations top government projects. Over the course of his career, he primarily served as a Project Controls Specialist for Bechtel National Incorporated where his efforts were integral to major projects across the United States. David was instrumental in the cleanup efforts in the wake of the Three-Mile Island nuclear disaster in 1979, often regarded as a testament to his illustrious career.
In his spare time, David enjoyed working with his hands. He was an avid woodworker and a lover of motor vehicles. He often worked on home-improvement projects and maintained various vehicles. His love for motor vehicles was only surpassed by his love for his family. David was a lover of animals, especially dogs, and a friend to everyone he interacted with.
He leaves behind his son William David Noe, daughter Tammy Noe Gregg, wife Teresa Oran Noe, grandchildren Caitlin Gregg Zeringue and Landon Chase Gregg, son-in-law Christopher Neal Gregg, grandson-in-law Alex Michael Zeringue, and his dog Rufus.
