Georgia C. Engle

Georgia C. Engle, age 101, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at her home.She was born May 21, 1925, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Vasilios & Julia (Anastasopoulas) Cormas, who migrated from Greece.Her first husband, Robert Millner, second husband, Thomas Engle, and siblings, Sam Cormas, Mary Datos, Helen Stewart, and Nick Cormas preceded her in death.For many years she was a Secretary for Johnson and Gaylon Construction and for her church. Georgia taught Ballroom Dance for most of her life. She was a member of Northside Christian Church in Knoxville, TN.Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Ornie) Mayes of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Megan (Tony) Mathis, Mckenzie (Logan) Smith; great-grandchildren, Kaden Mathis, Karson Mathis, Kambrie Mathis, and Roland Smith.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 21, 2026, at Greenwood Cemetery (3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918). Pastor Frits Haverkamp will officiate.Memorial contributions may be made to Northside Christian Church (4008 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918).
