Glenn Lee Mitchell Sr.

Glenn Lee Mitchell Sr. passed away at his home on August 1, 2026, at the age of 78. He was a loving husband, dad, Papaw, and great grandfather. Glenn was a faithful servant of God and of the Pentecostal faith.

Glenn was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Jo Ann Mitchell; parents, Howard and Lenia Mitchell; sisters, Elizabeth Weaver, Virginia "Jenny" Buckner; brothers, Jimmy Marley, Ray and Junior Mitchell. He is survived by children, Glenn (Karen) Mitchell, Sharon (Steve) Richards, Jennifer Mitchell; grandchildren, Lyndsey Parrott, Taylor Duncan, Cody Richards, Page Bowser, Coty Bowser, Tyler Bowser; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Mildred Lawhorn; several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the staff at UT Hospice, Sabrina, Chaplain Peter Gakuru, family physician- Dr. Robert Burton, and oncologist- Dr. Wahid Hanna. Family will receive friends Thursday, August 6th from 5-7pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with funeral service at 7pm. Rev. Rocky Glenn officiating. Graveside service will take place Friday, August 7th at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918 meeting at the graveside at 12:45pm for a 1pm service.
