Jeannette Diane Sawyer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeannette Diane Sawyer at the age of 91.

She was predeceased by her parents Winifred Blight and Harry Sawyer and brother Brian.

Diane married and came to Canada from Jersey, the Channel Islands, in 1950 at the age of 18. She played an active role in her community over the years, being involved in many organizations. To name a few; a key person in the Gilker Residence project, President of the Home and School Association for many years, Boy Scouts and Cubs, Casa Board with almost 25 years as a board member, etc. She was seen as a respected mentor and leader by all.

Mom/Momma was a woman with an open mind; an example of determination, resilience and love. She will be deeply missed by her beloved children Faye, Gary (Manon), Bryan (Jocelyne) and Karen (Réjean), her grandchildren Sara, Meredith, Julie, Alain, Maryse, Catherine, Geneviève, Christophe, Emilie and Jessica and fourteen great-grandchildren, as well as close family abroad.

In lieu of flowers, donations, should you wish to do so, may be made in her memory to a charitable organization of your choice.

A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in New Carlisle on October 14th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church as of 10:00 a.m.
