Jeannine MacDonald

It is with great sadness that the family of Jeannine MacDonald announces her passing on October 14th, 2026, following a lengthy illness. In her final days she was under the compassionate care of the Theresa Dellar Palliative Care in Kirkland, QC.

Jean, the eldest of 7, was born in Campbellton, N.B. on March 21 st , 1933, to the late Patrick Picard and Blanche Savoie. After high school Jean joined the RCAF. While training for Air Traffic Controller she met the love of her life, Roderick MacDonald, a pilot in the RCAF. The pair were lucky to share 73 years together and raise four children.

Jean was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and the gentle way she touched the lives of everyone she met.

Throughout her life Jean volunteered her time in many ways. She was President of Meals on Wheels for many years serving seniors in her community.

She leaves behind her loving husband Rod, of 73 years, as well as her 3 daughters Debbie (Gord), Susan, Carolyn (Pierre) and her son Michael (Coleen). She was also a proud grandmother to Kelly, Christopher, Erin, Lee, Morgan, Michael, Patrick, Adrian and Tess and great grandchildren Tayler, Tyson, Darby and Michael Jr.

Jean was also survived by her brother Gilles (Madeleine) and her sister Louise (Jacques). She was predeceased by her brothers Charlie, Claude, Jean-Paul and Guy and son-in-law Michael Ottier.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held on Monday, October 26 th , at St. Patrick of the Island Church, 278 Shamrock Street, Pincourt. Visitation to start at 10am, followed by a mass and reception.
