In the early morning of October 2, 2026, Joseph (Joe) William Hevesy passed peacefully, with
his wife, Sue, holding his hand and singing softly at his side. At 82, Joe passed in the loving
care of the staff at CHSLD Huntingdon.
Joe will be deeply missed by his wife, Susan (Sue) McWhinnie Hevesy; his sons, Jason
(Korenna), Christopher, and Sean; and his grandchildren, Jordon and Lucas, who fondly knew
him as Apu. His beloved pet and comforter, Rudi, will also greatly miss their special “treat
time” together.
Joe was a deeply spiritual man who found meaning and renewal throughout his life. He held
fond memories of his youth, growing up alongside Lorne and Sean and attending Loyola
College. His annual retreats to Manresa were a cherished source of spiritual renewal and
peace. In later years, he especially valued the fellowship and many friendships he found
through Rockburn Presbyterian Church.
Above all, Joe will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His
presence, kindness, spirituality, and love for his family will remain with those who knew him.
Sue and the Hevesy family extend their heartfelt thanks to all the loving staff at CHSLD
Huntingdon. Their extraordinary compassion, patience, and care for Joe—and their kindness
to his family—provided comfort and dignity during the final chapter of a long life filled with
love.
Joe will be missed deeply and remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing
him.
