Norma Louise Oatney, 96, passed away peacefully at Primrose Memory Care Center in Lancaster, Ohio, where she had been lovingly cared for by the dedicated staff for many years.

Norma was born on December 13, 1929 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late James and Mary (Legler) Van Horn. She grew up in Lancaster and attended Lancaster High School.

Norma found her life’s partner in F. Earl Oatney, whom she married on August 27, 1954, and together they adopted and raised two children, Keith and Susan. Norma loved to travel and often made the journey to the many lakes of Canada for fishing trips, frequently joined by her sister-in-law, Miriam. The two women also traveled together often throughout the years, forming a lasting bond.

In addition to her parents, siblings, and in-laws, Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, F. Earl Oatney, and son, Keith Oatney.

She is survived by daughter, Susan (Oatney) Pooler; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Oatney; sister-in-law, Miriam (Oatney) Lineberger; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A private graveside service will be held at Hampson Cemetery in Pleasantville, Ohio.
